Hello, and Welcome!
Nice to meet you. I’m Amy, a writer, editor, social media manager, and sometimes attorney who has called Alaska home for 20 years.
This is the intro where I should say something witty and clever to entice you to hire me. But you know how after a chef creates an elaborate, seven-course tasting menu at work, they whip together a super-simple pasta dish for themselves?
The same idea applies here.
After spending all day being witty and clever and crafting stories and social media posts and e-mails for clients, when it comes to focusing on me, my energy and creativity levels are operating on less than fumes. So, a simple intro is what you get.
Social media posts, newsletters, magazine articles, website copy, reports, e-mails – if you have words that need to be written, I can handle it. They’re all fun, for different reasons. They’re also all hard, for different reasons (if they were easy, you wouldn’t be searching for a writer now, would you?). My job is to handle the hard, and deliver something flawless (or near flawless – nobody’s perfect) that makes it look easy.
I hail from California’s East Bay – Pittsburg, to be exact – and spent time in Washington, D.C. (college at The George Washington University), Malibu (law school at Pepperdine University) and Chicago before arriving in Alaska in 2001.
I’m an introvert with an intense dislike of hugs. I had no sense of smell or taste long before COVID arrived and made everyone realize how un-fun having neither of those senses is. I have one husband, two kids, one cat, and a golden retriever who moonlights as my daughter’s service dog.
